Large Bras for Plus Size Women - Let's Get Perky

Do you feel just because you have to wear large bras you'll never get the lift you need? Do you envy women who have that perky look that you don't have. Well, I will let you in on  a secret....you can get that perky look too even if you are doomed to wearing large bras.

If you are not happy with the way your bras fit or how you look in your clothes, then you  are indeed ready for a bra intervention. And the first step to your fashion recovery is admitting you wear the wrong bra size.

Statics show that more than 80% of women wear the incorrect size bra. Amazing, isn't it?! You would think that wearing a bra since you were a pre-teen and every day since then would not be that complicated. However, finding a bra that fits properly is one of the biggest challenges women face.  So how do you know whether or not you are wearing the wrong size bra and bra styles?

Here are some tell tale signs:

  • If your breasts are spilling over the cups, then it's time to go up a cup size.
  • If the cups dimple, it's time to go down a cup size.
  • If your back or sides show rolls and bulges then your bra is too big. The correct bra band size will eliminate bulges. Contrary to what you may think, the bra band should rest lower on your back, not climbing up towards your neck.
  • If your strap falls down, that means your bra band is riding up on your back. You can also try tightening the strap first. Try tightening the strap first. If that doesn't take care of the problem then go down a band size. The incorrect band size is usually the reason straps will fall off your shoulders.

The proper sized BAND is extremely important because it is what GIVES LIFT AND SUPPORT, not the straps as most women think.

According to Susan Nethero, owner of several intimacy stores in New York City, says,  "All women lose firmness as they get older—so do their bras. When you buy a bra, make sure it fits you in the loosest hook. That way you can tighten the bra to the second and third hook as the bra ages and retain the firmness and the lift."
